I’ve made the most growth as not only an actor, but an emotionally well-rounded human being through my work with Alba Technique. To learn your body from the most minute muscular twitch, to the weight of the world bringing you to your knees and then back to neutral with a few breaths is invaluable to an artist’s craft and one’s understanding of themselves and those around them. To study directly with Ms. Angelin, who studied directly under Dr. Susana Bloch, the creator of Alba is an opportunity everyone should take advantage of. Selfishly I wish I could keep Alba a secret to myself, knowing how powerful a tool it is. But the Technique and Ms. Angelin’s passion and dedication to the work should be shared with the world. Her experience as an actress and Master practitioner of Alba provides training that cannot be found elsewhere.

Midway, Blue Bloods, Teen Wolf)

Patricia Angelin’s Alba Technique has beautifully expanded the breadth of my acting work. What does that mean? It means when I apply it, I am dropped into the body, behavior, and emotional life of my character. It also gives me a simple tool to ease back to a balanced neutral state after my work is done.

Alba Technique from Patricia Angelin is the Acting tool I needed to safely explore the many depths of characters and has deepened my range as an actor. Patricia masterfully had lead me through the Alba Technique with kindness & remarkable precision.

Training with Patricia Angelin in the Alba Technique has increased both my awareness as an actor and my confidence as a person. This training gives you access to the entirety of you, not just the you that you are used to expressing. It hones your entire emotional instrument and gives you access to all the colors of the rainbow, so to speak.

(Prodigal Son, Homeland, Blue Bloods)

Through Alba Technique, I’ve experienced not only an opening in performance but a dramatic shift in my entire life, increasing my awareness, enabling me to navigate emotions much more clearly. I have no actor hat to put on - I am my instrument. In addition, to learn this technique from Patricia Angelin - who approaches teaching holistically, with attention to the physical and emotional needs of each student as they develop - is a gift.

(The Sinner, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Midnight Texas, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, House of Cards, Grey’s Anatomy, Blue Bloods)

Patricia Angelin, at Alba Technique, has given me a tool in my arsenal to access all my emotions, even the ones I personally never wanted to face. What a gift this work has been. Now, I'm more accessible and open not only as an actor but as a human being. This work gave me my missing link to tap into my own authenticity and express it.

Studying Alba Technique with Patricia Angelin has helped usher me into the next stage of my development as both an artist and a human being. She is a rigorous, compassionate, eagle-eyed teacher with sterling integrity…to say that her knowledge of Alba is comprehensive is an understatement. Studying with Ms. Angelin is an experience that feeds the mind, body, and soul.

Thanks to Alba Technique, I have a greater understanding of my own emotions. It’s like I was using an 8-color set of crayons and now I realize I have a 96-color set at my disposal!

To be vulnerable is the most human quality we have. And Alba - it opens my vulnerability and therefore, my acting is augmented from that.

When performing as an actor, one always hopes that their natural talent will carry them as far as they need to go. However, the reality of the situation isn’t that simple. There are thousands of variables that can affect you emotionally and mentally, which could ultimately affect your performance. The Alba Technique is such an important part of my training as an actor because it allows me to rely on physical triggers that I have full control over. Having this foundation greatly improves my ability to deliver the performance I want.

(Golden Globe Winner: The Queen’s Gambit (Best Limited Series), Godless, Blue Bloods, Burning Shadow)

There is nothing quite like Alba Technique. There are so many acting techniques out there and all have something to offer but there is something missing. Alba fills in the blanks. And when you are studying with master teacher Pat Angelin, you will start to create an awareness and a set of tools towards understanding the great and infinite depths of the human condition. I owe so much to Alba and Pat for instilling in me a committing to a process where there is always a way to go deeper. Emotions are like colors and alba helps you unlock the infinite possibilities with which you can create and paint with.

Studying with Patricia Angelin is a true privilege. I’ve never so completely trusted a teacher. She is gentle and kind, with razor-sharp attention to detail and a keen ability to see the individual needs of her students. Of all my training this is the thing that I feel is essential. ALBA is a must for the actor or for anyone who wants to understand themselves and their emotional bodies on a deeper level. If you want to become a more authentic actor, or even a more authentic person, I can’t recommend another teacher or technique more highly than ALBA Technique with Patricia Angelin.

I have studied with numerous other teachers a variety of techniques and tools, but it’s with Patricia Angelin and the ALBA Technique that I’ve finally found my “magic bullet.” The information I’ve gained from studying with Patricia has had a deep and profound impact on my art as well as my life, and the way I approach both.

Alba Technique explores the neurological connection between our emotions and our breathing patterns, as well as other automatic physiological responses in the body. It is utterly fascinating information and a great tool to have in your actor's toolkit. Did you know that not only do we breathe differently when we are angry vs. happy vs. sad (each emotion has a different combination of breath in or out through the nose or in or out through the mouth), we also tense the muscles around our eyes differently, focus our gaze on different places on the horizon, and relax or tense certain muscles in the body differently (especially the fingers and toes)?

I look back on a wonderful Alba Technique Workshop in Ireland with Patricia Angelin. I was impressed by the healing impact of the patterns. Just breathing in a certain way e.g. induced a deep bodily experience of grief in me. A grief stripped of its story, its drama yet resulting in a release that my body seemed to have been waiting to express. The subsequent step-out exercise quickly brought me back to a neutral, relaxed state without a 'sad' residue. As a communicator and health therapist, I full-heartedly recommend this Technique to fellow therapists to better tune in to their own emotions and those of their clients.
