about alba technique
At Alba Technique, we take a holistic approach, honoring the absolute fullness and subtlety of each emotion, as well as giving our full attention and acceptance to the body. In an Alba class, there are no rights or wrongs, only brilliant discoveries. A student of Alba Technique can expect to become happier, healthier, and more emotionally well-rounded. And most of all: An even better actor.
With a better understanding of the self and the emotions, actors can keep leaping further into the creative unknown, resting assured that they have powerful sets of tools and guiding principles to carry them through a Life in Art.
Alba Technique is a New York based studio founded by Master Teacher, Patricia Angelin. Patricia began studying Alba with its creator Susana Bloch in 1994. She began teaching in 2008, with Dr. Bloch’s blessing.
In 2012, Angelin called together the Master Teachers in the United States: from that New York meeting, the Alba Method Association was formed.
While unique in its approach, Alba Technique remains deeply rooted in Susana Bloch’s Alba Emoting and is a proud member of the Alba Method Association and AIPAE (Chile).
Alba Technique is faithful to Susana Bloch’s vision. We are committed to work with the full range of Emotion from the smallest to the most sublime … all that which makes us fully human.
Alba Technique offers a variety of classes, private sessions, and workshops where students can learn and deepen their knowledge of the 6 neurologically basic emotions: Anger, Joy, Fear, Sadness, Tenderness and Erotic, as well as Neutral and Angelin’s unique Step Out protocol.
Though our home studio is in Manhattan, Alba Technique continues to offer workshops across the country and abroad … and we are willing to come to you!

MASTER TEACHER
PATRICIA ANGELIN
Patricia Angelin, founder of Alba Technique, is the first person in North America to be certified to the highest level in Alba Emoting International as both a Professional Actor and Master Teacher.
Beginning in 1994, she studied directly with Susana Bloch, following her from Chicago to San Diego, Paris to Chile, and hosting her in New York.
