Those who aspire to teach with Alba Technique must first gain a deep body knowledge of themselves. Getting to Self-Use is a process of major somatic discovery that takes a minimum of two-years. It is important to have experience and time with your own body before you can begin to safely work with the limbic system of others.

The initial imperative is to Know Thy Self.

what is teaching?

“Teaching” refers to any use of the Alba Emoting Emotional Effector Patterns to demonstrate to or instruct others.

where can I use my Alba Technique as a teacher?

Teachers use Alba Emoting in actor training, psychotherapy, theatre/film direction, intimacy training, stage combat, life coaching, dance, vocal coaching, and so on.

Phases of teaching track at Alba Technique:

  1. Reach Self-Use and work with the Self for a minimum of two years.

  2. Observe Patricia Angelin teaching in 3 different styles of classes/workshops over the period of at least 1 year.

  3. Be observed by Patricia Angelin and Ronn Burton teaching all 6 Alba Emotional Effector Patterns (and the Step Out) over the period of an additional year.

  4. Provide a piece of writing (or a project) that outlines your understanding of Alba as it applies to your professional goals.

  5. Plan, create, and execute a complete workshop where you are observed by Ms. Angelin teaching beginner students.

Please note that the above timelines are guidelines only. At Alba Technique, we are committed to helping you find your unique teaching style and practice.

As a founding member of the Alba Method Association, Master Teacher Patricia Angelin also subscribes to AMA’s teaching certification requirements for the teacher track at Alba Technique.
